Safety and Compliance Coordinator - Logs

The primary role of the Safety and Compliance Coordinator - Logs is to oversee all elements of the safety and compliance aspects for the contracts and ensure that all regulations are met, and all violations are followed up on. The incumbent will use his/her knowledge to seek out any new safety regulations and provide the information to all staff and drivers on the requirements of the government regulations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Provide training for owner operators and drivers for Logs and Fuel Tax Reporting.
• Provide testing regarding Logs and Fuel Tax and follow up with owner operators or drivers to correct the incorrect answers.
• Convert files to the PDF file and send out the reports for missing information.
• Scan, edit, process and transfer driver logs
• Ensure the TDSM system contains complete and accurate details of all owner operators or drivers working with IWheels Dedicated Logistics.
• Build strong relationships with the Owner Operators and Drivers and share in the responsibility of the actions of the Drivers working with iWheels.
• Write up and track drivers who are, or have been in violation of safety procedures or policies
• Maintain, update and troubleshoot both TDSM and Microsoft Access Database software
• Backup TDSM to Server
• Map network drive to TDSM server and install TDSM on client machines
• Call drivers on missing logs
• Update Q1 driver violation summary.
• Update all corrected fuel tax
• Update training materials to reflect changes within Wheels Group and/or government rules and regulations
• Address issues in the Performance Reports with the manager periodically.
• Other duties and assignments as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education and Industry Knowledge
• High school diploma.
• Undergraduate Degree / College Diploma in Accounting, Business or related discipline an asset. CITT is an asset.
• Possess a minimum of 1-2 years experience with driver logs or hours of service training in the transportation industry.

Technical Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word). Access is an asset.
• Log auditing software experience (e.g., TDSM) an asset.
• Working knowledge of freight management software (Freight Logix, TEDS, PC Miler, etc.) an asset.
