Reporting Specialist (Data Mining) Reporting Specialist (Data Mining) COMPANY PROFILE: Our client is a worldwide leader in IP-based video communication and collaboration services, with offices in the United States, Canada, UK, Hong Kong and China. Our client is seeking a qualified and seasoned Reporting Specialist (Data Mining) to augment our software development and R&D teams. In this role you will report to the VP, Technology, and you will be responsible for performing business system analysis for all business related applications.  BENEFITS: • Full time position • Salary: Up to 80,000 plus bonus • Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Group RRSP • Company car or Car allowance RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to: Primary Functions: • Identification of data and business requirements for processes • Thorough understanding of data relationships • Analyze reporting requirements from a holistic perspective with a feedback loop into business requirements and system design. • Ability to generate, design and create ad-hoc reports and pivot table based views on data for various department requests. • Ability to understand the business and create reports to track KPIs of various areas in the business. • Analysis of data variances and normalization • Optimize database performance • Perform business system analysis for all business related applications • Administer and maintain the company's operations database • Uses various reporting tools to create and present reports from the data available in the various operational databases • Prepare and maintain documentation, including procedures, system specifications, technical documentation, computer training materials and user manuals • Proven ability to prioritize independently, multiple requests and system requirements to meet the organizational goals. • Perform data conversion and system migration work, testing, implementing or working with software vendors to implement solution. • Participate in full life cycle development of new web applications, and modification of existing applications to add new components and features emphasizing: maintainability, reliability, scalability and performance; provide implementation of solutions using known best practices.   REQUIREMENTS: • Proven experience in SQL reporting. • Proven experience in data analysis with Excel. • Proven experience in tuning database queries. • SQL Server 2005 Reporting would be a definite asset. • Experience with BIRT reports, particularly as deployed software in a portal, would be an asset. • In depth Project management experience. • Experience with Financial and project costing would be an asset • Excellent inter-personal, written communication and presentation skills. • Experience in business domains such as insurance and accounting. • Excellent documentation skills and experience in communicating data requirements and detailed specifications for programmers. • 3 to 5 years of progressive combined experience in similar position • BA in Computer Science/Math or significant demonstrated experience in the field of Data Mining Anyone interested in this position must submit their C.V. in confidence by email Please quote Reporting Specialist (Data Mining) in Subject line
