| System Administration Specialist System Administration Specialist COMPANY PROFILE: Our client is a worldwide leader in IP-based video communication and collaboration services, with offices in the United States, Canada, UK, Hong Kong and China. Our client is seeking a qualified and seasoned IT professional to fill a Corporate IT Infrastructure development and support role in our Mississauga office. BENEFITS: • Full time position • Compensation dependent upon experience • Group benefits coverage REQUIREMENTS: In this role you will report to the VP, Engineering, and you will be responsible for developing and implementing global IT solutions that meet the needs of our expanding business and its global staff. • Work with open source technologies and vendors to integrate effective IT solutions. • Assist in determining optimal IT hardware/software requirements. • Develop, maintain, and enhance the management of the many Linux systems employed by BCS. • Review new IT services and technology requests by clients and assess their impact on the operational environment, giving recommendations to ensure a successful and secure Implementation • Creation and management of all corporate IT solutions across three continents • Support and maintain ongoing, proactive relationship with our corporate IT users, Engineering, Systems, and Operations units within BCS to facilitate planning and expectation management. • Review, Install, Configure, and Administer Linux based technologies. • Create and Communicate IT operation guidelines and policies as they pertain to Linux to internal clients. Apply and interpret how these guidelines enhance the internal client’s operational efficiency. • Advise the Service Desk and Client Services Team of activities and contribute to status reporting at regular intervals • Document technical recommendations; provide technical advice and guidance to VP. Qualifications: • 6 to 8 years of progressive combined experience in any or all of the following areas: Information Systems Support corporate environment, Installation and supporting wireless environments, management and supporting of Virtual environments, Linux sysadmin • Designing and implementation of LDAP in a corporate environment • DNS/BIND9 expertise in a secure environment • Operating and administering Linux in a failover and clustered environment • Linux and Windows Backup systems (bacula) • Linux Mail systems (postfix, procmail, etc) • Linux filesystems and RAID knowledge • Linux networking and administration (iptables, tcpdump, nmap) • Proficiency in Scripting technologies (perl, python, bash) • Ability to manage Linux machines remotely and securely (ssh, certificates) • Administering to Apache websites (PHP, CGI, WebDAV, Java integration) • Experience in Linux web technologies (curl, wget, xml) • Linux kernel compilation and customization • Project management in a team environment • VMware knowledge Clients and Server • VoIP Experience • VPN Administration (IPSEC, OPENVPN) • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of Applications, including MS Visio • Cable Management Demonstrated Competencies • Experience working with LAN/WAN internetworking technologies planning and deployment • Experience in Architecture/ Standards Management - developing an effective IT operations architecture encompassing organization, process and tools necessary to • Strong inter-personal skills and team player - able to help the business in scoping initiatives, align their differences and conflicting priorities and to find creative solutions to IT related problems • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated strong sense of urgency and drive to deal with ambiguity and solve issues in a fast-paced work environment Anyone interested in this position must submit their C.V. in confidence by email Please quote System Administration Specialist in Subject line | |
